Any non-street tree of 6 inches DBH or more needs an application to the Zoning Officer, with a tree survey attached, and nothing comes down until the City has approved it. Street trees now have no minimum size at all — the 2.5 inch floor was removed by the July amendment.
Fees rise with the tree: $75 up to 13 inches, $100 to 23 inches, $150 to 33 inches and $175 above that. Replacement runs one to four trees at a minimum 1.5 inch caliper, planted within twelve months and monitored for two. Hazard trees carry no fee and no replacement, but you need written justification and a statement from a licensed tree expert to claim it.
