Tree Removal
Kingwood is rural Hunterdon: farmland, woodlots and long drives. Open ground means we can usually set the crane up and take a big tree down in one clean operation.

Farmland, woodlots and long private drives mean one fallen tree can block the only way out of a Kingwood property. Tree service in Kingwood, NJ is crane removals on open ground, land clearing along fence lines and stump grinding.
In Kingwood a fallen tree can block the only way in, so we answer the phone at night and we turn up when we say we will. Thirty-three years, the same phone number and 137 Google reviews behind it, registered with the New Jersey Board of Tree Experts, Peter Ahlert holding the operator license.
Tree removal in Kingwood is often a drive-clearing job before it is a yard job, and on open ground the crane does the lifting. We clear fence lines, prune what is worth keeping, grind the stumps below grade and chip the brush on site rather than leaving a pile for you to burn.
At Wayne’s Tree Service, we proudly serve the Kingwood community with safe, affordable, and expert-level tree care.

Field-edge and woodlot trees carry a lot of dead wood and one-sided weight. We prune the deadwood out and balance the crown so wind has less to work on.
When to prune, by species
Out here a stump left in a field or a lawn is just an obstacle. We grind it well below grade and level the ground back.
How stump grinding works
There is real room to plant: replacements, screens and windbreaks. We choose species suited to exposed rural ground and plant them to establish properly.
More on planting
This is proper land clearing country. Fence lines, field edges, building pads and overgrown woodlots: timber and brush out, stumps ground down.
Our land clearing service
Kingwood is the far edge of our area, but we still answer around the clock and come out with the equipment when a tree comes down.
How emergency call-outs workKingwood created Chapter 121 in August 2024. A permit is required for any tree of 6 inches DBH or more, for street trees from 2.5 inches, and for anything in a riparian area, floodplain, conservation easement or steep slope. Fees start at $10 a tree and climb with the number removed, reaching $100 a tree above 100 trees. Trees have to be flagged before the Zoning Officer inspects.
The exemptions are where this ordinance shows its rural character. Tree farms, nurseries, orchards and garden centers are out entirely, as is silviculture under a woodland management plan, but only if that plan is active and on file with the Township, which is a real condition people miss. There is also a firewood allowance for your own use: up to three trees an acre a year, capped at 30% of the trees on the property, and not available for specimen trees or protected areas.

We needed to remove a tree near the road and power lines. Dylan gave us a very reasonable quote and was extremely accommodating with scheduling to avoid working when the lawn was wet.
Dylan and his team provided exceptional service. I had various tree branches, bushes, and shrubs removed, and the team took care of everything including debris removal and cleaning up the property.
These guys are the package deal. Polite professional, quick, responsive and well priced. They are safe and respectful. Used them many times over the years for routine work and emergencies. Always came through.
Very professional, decent prices, and they did a great job. Strongly recommended.
A tree fell onto our house in yesterday’s storm. They responded immediately. The work to remove the tree was done very quickly. There was not a twig left on the ground when they were done. Price was reasonable.
I have used Wayne’s tree service twice now. Dylan is great. Super responsive and very easy to work with. He is thorough and has a great team. I would absolutely use them again!
